Please be aware that completing the Pension Request Form does not guarantee that you have met the Vesting Requirements and are eligible to retire with the POAB at this time. Once a Retirement Coordinator has reviewed your account, we will send a personalized Retirement Package to your mailing address and your email address. If you are not eligible for retirement at this time, we will contact you.

If you are married, the POAB Fund is required to provide you survivor pension options. If you are married and do not provide your spouse's date of birth, your pension may be delayed.

Reason for Retirement
Members who reach 30 years of service with the Fund are eligible to draw retirement benefits at the 30-year mark.
Members who leave law enforcement must reach age 55 to draw retirement benefits.
Members who are 55 and continue working in law enforcement must select the date of their ended creditable service with the Fund. They are eligible to retire upon that date.
NOTE: *30 years = 30 years service credit with the Fund. Not total time in law enforcement.
The Ended Creditable Service Date is determined by your Reason for Retirement. 

  • 30 Year Eligibility — Ended creditable service date is the 30-year mark.
  • Vested/ Out of Law Enforcement — Date of ended LE employment. 
  • Vested/Continuing in Law Enforcement — Members who are 55 and continue working in law enforcement must select the date of their ended creditable service with the Fund. They are eligible to retire upon that date. - You choose the date.
Please be aware that if you are married, and do not provide your spouse's date of birth, you may delay your retirement.
