Your outreach and advocacy made an impact this session. Although the bill will not move forward this year, the strong interest it generated is helping shape an even stronger proposal for the future.

- Legislative Update -

I want to thank everyone for your efforts in contacting legislators this session regarding the POAB bill. It is not getting out this session, but your work has generated a lot of interest and has brought us to the decision to drop a new bill in the House this year. It’s being dropped this session so an actuarial analysis can be completed over the summer in preparation for the next session.

This bill has the potential to be more beneficial to our members in the long run. In fact, it could possibly raise COLAs at a faster rate than envisioned by the current bill.
