Major Stephen Adams, originally from Clarkesville, Georgia, is a 30-year veteran of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR). He also serves as the vice chairman of the Georgia POST Council and the chairman of the Training and Standards Committee.

Adams holds an Associate degree in Wildlife from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and is a graduate of the Georgia Law Enforcement Command College at Columbus State University. He also completed the 246th Session of the FBI National Academy and participated in the 22nd Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange Delegation to Israel. Additionally, he is a member of the 2nd Cohort of the National Association of Conservation Law Enforcement Chiefs Leadership Academy.

Adams has held leadership positions throughout his career. He is a Past President of the Peace Officers Association of Georgia and currently serves on the Georgia POST Council as vice chairman, where he also chairs the Training and Standards Committee. He holds certifications as both a General Instructor and a Firearms Instructor from POST.

After more than 30 years of dedicated service, Adams retired as a Major with the DNR Law Enforcement Division. During his career, he served in several locations across the state, including the Northeast Georgia Mountains, Lake Lanier, and six years as a Captain on the Georgia Coast.

Major Adams currently resides in Flowery Branch with his wife, Renee, a 6th-grade Earth Science teacher. The couple has two sons, Hayden and Colby.
